So my good friend Jake expressed that it looks like I’m on some crazy excursion for months (which I am), but that it’s not realistic to my actual time here.  Btw, Jake and I make fabulous hummus together definitely going to bring my skillz back home.

On a daily basis, I do school work, usually plan something for some trip I’m going on, make food, go to class, do random other tasks and go out a few times a week.

Soooooooo yes I am in school and I am taking classes and do live in apartment/student housing type things.  I’m studying creative writing, the biological effects of traumatic stress, trans - and intergenerational trauma, and food and nutrition in health.  The trauma and healing units are pretty ‘full on’, but I’m learning heaps and got to do some serious self reflection with regards to my experiences in Australia for my creative writing final essay.

Every tuesday people go to Tommy’s, a bar down in Lismore, and every thursday people go to the Unibar.  The Unibar holds fun themed events once a month including circus, hollywood, when I grow up etc. People get really into it and some creative costumes are sported.  I may have seen a few ‘old cat ladies’ for the When I grow up theme, priceless.  We do typical uni. student partying stuff though, predrinking with beer pong and flip cup, and everyone heads off to the bars around 10 or 10:30.

The rec. deck (lobby or student hang out where no one actually hangs out) has ping pong and pool, and I must say I am significantly upping my game.  Watch out bro, next time we meet you’re goin’ down unda.

Because Orion College (where I live) is somewhat isolated, and takes 30 minutes to walk into town down a giant hill, going out and doing things is not as accessible as in Cbus.  But it’s beautiful and surrounded by rainforests and you can see the whole valley from the college.
