Alight, so I will be travelling heaps in 2 days and won’t have much time on internets, so many blog posts are going to be slapped on tumblr, hurray!

I step outside the airport and immediately hug the hot steamy air.  After ‘sleeping’ on a bus, and then in an airport to catch a flight at 6am, and then again ‘sleeping’ on a plane for a few hours we stumble around and out into Cairns.  I love Cairns from the moment I stepped off the airplane into warm wonderland.  It’s been raining and cold in Lismore for about 2 weeks before we left.  Carly, Ellie, Kristina and I don’t know what we’re in for on this great holiday.  Apart from simply enjoying eachother’s company, we have quite a few outstanding adventures together.

Check this out.

a day at Kuranda, a funky spot out in the bush outside of Cairns

Ellie sippin’ on her freshly cut up coconut, getting ready to eat the flesh inside ^^

We met two friendly blokes at a pub the second night we were in Cairns, and they offered to take us to a few waterfalls.  We ended spending the whole morning and arvo (afternoon) at Crystal Cascades.  The water was mildly warm, and the rain only slightly drizzled.  We played in natural water slides down the falls and swam behind waterfalls.  The falls massaged our backs as we leaned up against the slippery rock and allowed the water to beat on our backpack-sore shoulders.  Sometimes the waste strap just doesn’t cut it.
