beach trip number 2

We found ourselves at the private paradise once again this weekend. This time with a different but also extremely eclectic group. Carly, another Ami Kristina, the boys + 1, and two totally rad traveler chicks making 11 of us all together. Carly Kristina and I were in Byron for the day and decided to go camping at the last minute, with no gear. We cuddled through the night and supplied ourselves with nutella, peanut butter, bread and a few bananas.
Talking to the two new sheilas Ivy and Olivia was eye-opening. These sisters from Sweden had so much to share about traveling, meeting new people and having wild adventures. Ivy has been living with an older man who is going through a hard time, but she believes to be the holder of all knowledge. She wants to help the world and see it in its entirety. Scotty and Chance describe Olivia best, by her vibe and energy. She glows and has a wonderful positivity to her that grew fond of very quickly.
Nuzzling up in a hammock for the night and waking up for the sunrise could not have made me love these boys or this beach any more. But with good experience sometimes comes stressful ones. A few of the boys dropped off a friend who needed to go to work at 7:30 the following morning, and returned to pick us up and take us back to Lismore in time for a lunch with Aussies. We missed it by half an hour unfortunately. Another lesson learned about the Aussie mindset of ‘no worries’, even though we’re all American on this trip.
I discovered that morning, that the beach was with out a doubt the most romantic spot I have ever been to, and maybe ever will. Sound of the waves crashing in the background, a sea of stars all night long, a bright colored sunrise in the morning. Heck, I was dancing in the moonlight with Dave, our feet in the water, to return to a warm fire and wine.
