many faces of Uluru

Uluru is one of the first sites we saw.  Fortunately for us, we were able to see it at sunset and sunrise.  Waking up to frost could have been improved, but the changing of the colors was marvelous.  The sun hits the large rock different ways every few seconds, and your eyes need to readjust to soak in all the color.  This giant rock in the middle of a flat desert is mind boggling.  Some people think there are aliens which planted it there and are still inside it to this day, the indigenous communities believe the giant earth creatures created it and it is now a sacred site.  Climbing Uluru is now forbidden due to the fact that Aboriginese consider it sacred. It took Australia long enough to have consent of the people who first inhabited the land, after stomping all over it and drill holes for climing ropes.
